After selecting the partition in MiniTool Partition Wizard, you can find its status is Active & System. Now I have to make a bios update and se if I have to restore the hp folder. Note: The system reserved partition (System, Active, Primary Partition) will be a 100MB Partition in Windows 7 or 500MB partition in Windows 10.

Voilà ! The creator update is install on my laptop. So I decided to make a copy of the files on anther drive and remove the hp folder. The folder is pretty big and mostly contains binaries for BIOS update. To see the size and content of the hp folder I pulled up diskmgmt.msc and saw that my system partition had a size of 100 MB and was essentially completely full 3 free. I tried my other desktop and got the same message. That happened after it downloaded updates (that takes a while). The dir command, in my case, shows an hp folder and that I only have 8 MB left. The first one failed with the message saying, We couldn’t update the system reserved partition. Which will mount the system drive and attach it to the Y drive letter.

Where you can learn that, the update needs 15 MB and the most interesting the command to mount the system drive : Searching on Bing I came to those 2 links : Windows update invited me to upgrade to the creator update but, as many, I kept having this error :Īlthough the disk management console is saying that the system partition is 100% free !
